How can I view my upcoming opportunity details and shifts

Be Collective makes it easy to view the opportunities you have been approved for, access opportunity details, and keep track of your upcoming shifts.

There are several ways you can access this information, including through your dashboard, the My volunteering tab and calendar view, mobile view, or via your volunteer application approval email notification.

Open an opportunity

From the main dashboard, you can access your opportunity by:

  1. Clicking a shift in the Upcoming Shifts section, or
  2. Selecting the relevant notification from the notification bell (top right)

Once you open the assigned opportunity, the Details tab shows all information about the opportunity. From here, you also have the option to cancel your participation.

Note: If you try to remove yourself from an opportunity within the cancellation notification period, a notification will instruct you to contact the volunteer manager. You will not be able to remove yourself — only the volunteer manager can process the request.

View and manage shifts

Volunteers can manage shifts directly within opportunities they have been approved into. From the opportunity page:

  1. Open the Shifts tab

  2. Review shifts you are assigned to, pending shifts waiting for approval, and available shifts with their capacity

  3. To apply for a shift, click Apply on the desired shift, then confirm by clicking Apply again in the pop-up

Once submitted, the shift will show as pending while it awaits approval from the volunteer manager. You will receive an email notification once your shift has been approved or declined.

Leave a shift

  1. On the opportunity Shifts tab, click Leave on the shift row
  2. In the confirmation pop-up, click Leave

Once confirmed, you will be removed from the shift and it will no longer appear in your upcoming shifts.

Please note: if you attempt to leave a shift within the set cancellation notification period, a pop-up will advise you to contact the volunteer manager. During this period, you will not be able to remove yourself from the shift — the volunteer manager will need to action the request on your behalf.
