Be Collective is a Software-as-a-Service platform which operates from the Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud environment.
As a cloud Software-as-a-Service delivery, Be Collective emulates the Amazon EC2 cloud Service Level Agreement of 99.95% relevant to any downtimes relating to the delivery of platform events as hosted at Amazon’s data centre.
Australia and New Zealand
Be Collective’s S3 database storage currently sits on Amazon’s Sydney environment, it is replicated to international locations from time-to-time to mitigate potential outages in the rare event of a catastrophic service down-time where the Sydney Amazon site may stop functioning.
United Kingdom
Be Collective is a universal platform which is hosted in Amazon Web Services (AWS) data centres in London for our UK coverage.
Be Collective adheres to all requirements of the General Data Protection Regulations [GDPR] such as:
Obtaining consent
- Be Collective has clear terms and conditions that explain the collection and use of personal data. All users must accept the terms and conditions before signing up to the platform.
- Users may withdraw their consent at any time.
Data Breach notification
- Be Collective is committed to data breach notifications and has a formal process in place should a data breach occur.
Right to data access
- All Be Collective users can download all of their personal and volunteering data at any time.
Right to be forgotten
- Be Collective users can deactivate and delete their account at any time.
- Volunteering data is kept for a minimum of seven years where required by law.
Data Portability
- Be Collective users can download a copy of their personal and volunteering information in JSON format from Settings → Privacy using Download your information.

- All functions and features in the Be Collective platform are designed with data privacy in mind. Our design process includes a privacy impact assessment.
