How can I request volunteers share their total volunteer hours logged on Be Collective?
This article shows group managers how to request sharing of all volunteer hours logged on Be Collective by their group members.
Requests for access to volunteer hours are available only to Be Collective Plus/Pro subscribers. See Be Collective's product plans & pricing.
If you're a volunteer centre or national/regional peak body, you may want hours completed across all opportunities — not just those you share or endorse. Total hours can be used in Smart Lists and certificate filters.
Access is granted volunteer-by-volunteer and must be clearly requested from members who join your group.
Turn on the setting
Open Settings
Open Access
Set Request for access to member's volunteering hours to ON
Click Save changes
How new members share hours
When this setting is on, Be Collective users who join your group (including via endorsed opportunities) are asked whether they consent to sharing their total volunteer hours across Be Collective with your group.
You receive data on hours completed only — not opportunity-specific data except for opportunities you manage directly or have endorsed.
Existing members
Members who joined before you turned on this setting can choose whether to share total hours from Settings → Privacy on their personal dashboard. Your group appears on the Privacy tab alongside any other groups that have requested total hours.
Existing members are not notified automatically when you enable this setting — contact them and ask them to share their volunteering hours through their settings.
