How do I add documents and links to my group profile?

Document management is available only to Be Collective Plus, Pro and Full Platform subscribers.

Document limits by plan:

  • Starter: no documents
  • Plus: up to five documents
  • Pro: up to 20 documents
  • Full Platform: unlimited documents

See Be Collective's product plans & pricing.

A group manager can decide if a document is public or private. Public documents are visible to anyone who can view your group page; private documents are only visible to approved members.

Open Docs and links

  1. Open your group management page
  2. Open the Docs and links tab

Add a document or file

  1. Click Add document

  2. Enter a document name

  3. Select the file — drag and drop it into the upload dialog, or click Select file from computer

  4. Optionally add a document description and document tag(s). To add multiple tags, click the + button after each tag before entering a new one

  5. Click Upload to add the file to your Docs and links tab

If you upload a document which has already been uploaded to your document library, you will see a pop-up window.

Add a link

  1. Click Add link

  2. Enter a name for your link — for example, the name of the website you're linking to

  3. Optionally add a description and tag(s)

  4. Enter the web address for the page or file you'd like the link to direct to

  5. Click Add to save it to your Docs and links tab

Don't forget, no matter the Be Collective Plan (Starter, Plus, Pro or Full Platform) volunteer managers can post as many links as needed to a group page.

Why can I see volunteer brief documents in my Docs and links tab?

If you manage a group as an owner or administrator, any documents you upload as part of a volunteer brief for any opportunity (public or private) are also shown in your management view of the Docs and links tab. Documents you set up as private can not be viewed by the public — only group members.

Volunteers can only see volunteer brief documents through relevant opportunities they've been approved for.

For more information on the volunteer brief, see Create an opportunity: Step 4 – Brief.
