How do I register my group through a website integration?

If you manage a group that works with an organisation using Be Collective to connect volunteer groups (the 'host'), such as a volunteer resource centre, you may be invited to join Be Collective through an integration embedded in that organisation's website.

When you register your group to Be Collective through a hosted website integration, your group will automatically be 'partnered' with the host group on Be Collective. Any opportunities you post will also be 'endorsed' by the host group – this means your opportunities will be posted on the host group's opportunities feed, expanding the potential audience for your opportunities.

Your opportunities will also be shown in the Be Collective platform – here, you'll have your own group page where you can manage your volunteers and opportunities using a range of tools including scheduling, timesheets and our application form builder.

Register through a website integration

  1. Open the group registration page on the host organisation's website — you may receive a link from the host, or find it under Volunteer management or Organisations in the Be Collective-integrated section of their site

  2. Complete the registration form with:

    • First name and Last name
    • Email — you'll use this as your username to log into Be Collective, either through the website integration or directly through the Be Collective platform
    • Password
    • Date of birth — you must be over the age of 16 to register a group on Be Collective
    • Name of group — the name of your organisation
    • Group type — your organisation type/sector (e.g. not-for-profit, community group)
    • Description — a brief description of what your group does, particularly with respect to volunteering
  3. Check your email for a six-digit verification code, enter it when prompted, and click Verify

  4. Finalise your group by providing:

    • Group logo — an image file, preferably in JPG or PNG format
    • Location — the primary location of your group (a full address or a more general area, such as a suburb)
    • Insurance — whether or not you have volunteer insurance, either directly or through an auspice agreement with another organisation (insurance is not compulsory; it is shown on your group's profile and opportunities to inform volunteers)
  5. When prompted, create your first opportunity — see How do I create an opportunity?

Are the details I enter here final?

No – you can edit your group and grant management access to colleagues in your organisation at any time in the Be Collective web app, using the same login details you provide in the registration form.

For more details, see How do I manage my group?.

From within the Be Collective website integration, you can also edit and manage your group. You can also find links to the Be Collective web app, where you can carry out more advanced group and opportunity management functions.
