How do I request an endorsement from another group for an opportunity?

This article shows group managers how to send an endorsement request for an opportunity to other groups on Be Collective.

If you'd like to share your opportunity you manage with other groups so they can in turn share the opportunity with their members, you can do so easily through endorsements.

What is an endorsement?

An endorsement is when a group share another group's opportunity with its members. The two groups will often be partnered on Be Collective, but don't need to be in order to endorse one another's opportunities.

Endorsements can be initiated in either direction. For example, Group A can find an opportunity managed by Group B and endorse it to share with Group A members. Group B can do the same with Group A's opportunities.

Group B can also request that Group A endorses an opportunity, and it will be shared with Group A members when Group A accepts the endorsement request.

You can request an endorsement of an opportunity during opportunity creation, or after it's been published.

Request an endorsement during opportunity creation

  1. Open your group management page and start creating an opportunity (How do I create an opportunity?)

  2. Proceed to Step 5 – Share in the opportunity builder

  3. Under Share this opportunity, select any groups your group is partnered with or any other groups on Be Collective

  4. Click Create opportunity to publish

Any groups you select here will be sent an endorsement request for the opportunity as soon as the opportunity has been created and published.

Request endorsement of a published opportunity

  1. Open your group management page (How do I manage my group?)

  2. Open the Opportunities tab

  3. Find the opportunity you'd like to request endorsement for and click Share under the opportunity name

  4. Click Endorsement Request when prompted

  5. Select the groups you'd like to send the endorsement request to (from My other groups, My partners, or by searching for other groups on Be Collective)

  6. Click Send

The opportunity will not be shared with members of a selected group until the request has been viewed and accepted by a manager of that group.

How can I find out if my opportunity has already been endorsed?
