How do I view my group's Key insights reporting?

Key insights is available to Be Collective Plus, Pro and Full Platform subscribers. If your group is on Be Collective Starter, you can access Summary reporting with a 90-day locked date range.

Be Collective's Key insights reports can be used to give you a clearer picture of your organisation's social impact.

View Key insights

  1. Open your group management page

  2. Click the Reporting tab in the navigation bar

  3. Click the Key insights sub-tab (Summary is shown by default)

From here, you can see insights on your engaged volunteers' gender, age group and the causes they support across a specified date range.

Change the date range

  1. Use the Date range picker at the top of the page
  2. Select the date range you want — year to date, last calendar year, last financial year, or a custom range

The date range applies to the entire group (or subgroups if you have them). It is automatically set to year to date.

Filter by sub-group (Enterprise / hierarchy groups)

If you are an admin for a Be Collective Enterprise group using sub-groups (hierarchy) to organise your organisation or volunteer programs:

  1. Use the sub-group filter dropdown (set to Select all by default)
  2. Deselect any sub-groups you do not want to include

All information on the Key insights page will automatically reflect your filter selections. If you have selected all subgroups or a collection of subgroups, the report shows aggregated data for the groups selected.

Review charts and maps

Scroll down below the initial summary figures to find charts showing breakdowns of your volunteer base by gender and the causes your volunteers are interested in.

Further down the page, there is also an overview of where your volunteers are located on a world map view. You can zoom in and out on this map to see a country, state or suburb view. This data is based on data provided by volunteers who have shared their locality through their individual profiles.

You can also see where your group's completed opportunities are based, excluding virtual/remote opportunities.

Both the overview and detailed reporting is useful for preparing annual reports or funding applications, and for understanding the metrics of your volunteer base and programs at any time.

For more in-depth reporting, group administrators can download CSV exports containing data relating to members, groups, partners, opportunities, events and custom fields. See How do I export my organisation's data?.
