What are the key differences between Starter and Plus Plan?
This article summarises the differences in functionality and experience between Be Collective Starter and Plus Plans.
Be Collective is free for volunteers and organisations who want to grow their impact. Organisations looking to recruit and manage volunteers at zero cost can do so using our Be Collective Starter plan. For access to more advanced, customisable features, organisations can upgrade to Be Collective Plus, Pro or Full Platform plan at any time. This article dives into the key differences in functionality between BC Starter and BC Plus, to help you understand which plan is right for you.
For a comparative overview of all the features included in each of our plans, please see a summary of our Be Collective Starter, Plus and Pro plans.
Group admins
- Starter: One group owner — no admins
- Plus: up to two group admins
The size and complexity of your organisation often affects how many administrators you will need. Here’s some information about what a group admin can do on Be Collective. If you're on the Starter Plan and find that your group needs more administrative support, you can choose to add extra administrators as a paid add-on without needing to upgrade your whole plan. This gives you the flexibility to scale your admin team as your group grows — see Be Collective's product plans & pricing.
Application forms
- Starter: select from 2 template forms: Frequently Used or Comprehensive. These forms capture basic contact details and 1-2 template questions.
- Plus: build custom application forms tailored to each opportunity, with the ability to save as templates for future use. BC Starter template forms are quick, simple and easy to use. However, our customisable forms allow you to capture specific data on your group members, which can be used to help match volunteers to opportunities or make your induction processes simpler. Opportunity-specific questions can also make screening applicants easier - for example, if you need to know whether a volunteer has a certain certificate or qualification in order to progress their application, you can ask that in your application form. You can visit our Help Centre for more information on customisable forms for your group application and opportunity applications.
Document management
- Starter: Not an available feature on starter
- Plus: Upload up to 5 documents
With BC Starter you can add up to 5 documents on your Be Collective page, and also upload documents to a volunteer brief for every opportunity you post. This volunteer brief will be automatically sent to each approved volunteer after they have been accepted for an opportunity. More info about docs & links can be found here.
Reporting
- Starter: basic Summary reporting (not downloadable)
- Plus: Summary reporting and Key Insights
Not every organisation requires in-depth reporting. In this case, a basic summary might be more than enough for your group. For groups that share data with funders/supporters, our automated reporting module makes it easy to extract information for funding applications, accountability reports and annual reviews.
